This week, we found nonstop flights to Hawaii for only 35,000 AAdvantage miles. Delta SkyMiles members can earn triple miles on hotel stays and car rentals, and targeted World of Hyatt members can earn thousands of bonus Hyatt points.

Plus, one of our favorite travel cards, the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, is out with a best-ever welcome offer: Earn 100,000 bonus points plus a $500 Chase Travel℠ promo credit after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening (see rates and fees). (The promotional credit is valid for a one-time use only; if you apply the promotional credit to a transaction less than $500, you will forfeit the remaining balance.)

Earn 500 bonus points when you complete qualifying activities at the following TrueBlue partners by Oct. 28:

The best Hyatt Category 4 hotels to maximize your free night award certificates

One highlight of the World of Hyatt program is that it still uses award charts to determine the number of points you'll need to redeem for a free night. The World of Hyatt award chart for Hyatt hotels and resorts has eight categories, and standard rooms at Hyatt Category 4 hotels cost 12,000 points on off-peak nights, 15,000 points on standard nights and 18,000 points on peak nights.

Travelers often discuss Hyatt Category 4 hotels more than hotels in other categories because you can earn Category 1-4 certificates with the World of Hyatt Credit Card (see rates and fees), the Hyatt Milestone Rewards program and Hyatt's Brand Explorer promotion — and the best way to maximize these certificates is to use them at Category 4 hotels.

New applicants of the World of Hyatt Credit Card can earn two free nights at any Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel or resort after spending $4,000 in the first three months of account opening — plus an additional 25,000 bonus points after spending $12,000 in the first six months of account opening — if they apply by Aug. 28. So, here's a look at some of the best Hyatt Category 4 hotels.

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort

hotel pool
HYATT REGENCY GRAND CYPRESS/FACEBOOK

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando several times in high school. What I remember most about the resort is its Grand Cypress Golf Club, with holes designed by Jack Nicklaus. I also remember enjoying its lagoon-style pool with waterfalls, caves and even a waterslide.

The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort has 779 rooms, including 46 suites. Rooms are 360 square feet, with each offering one king bed or two double beds, plus views of Orlando, the pool or a lake. Meanwhile, suites start at 702 square feet. You can book standard rooms starting at 12,000 points per night, standard suites starting at 21,000 points per night and premium suites starting at 24,000 points per night.

Unfortunately, the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort charges a nightly resort fee of $50 plus taxes and fees per room. You'll get transportation to and from Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort and Disney Springs as part of the daily resort fee, as well as access to a seven-hole pitch-and-putt course, a miniature golf course, bike rentals, a rock climbing wall, pickleball courts and more. Self-parking, unfortunately, still carries an additional $37 fee (plus taxes) per night, though.

However, booking a free night award can help you avoid this fee. Plus, Hyatt Globalist members can avoid the fee when booking any eligible rate.

The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort offers various dining options. Guests looking for a quick, casual experience will enjoy the grab-and-go market and the On the Rocks poolside restaurant. Meanwhile, those looking for an upscale experience can enjoy dinner at Four Flamingos, A Richard Blais Florida Kitchen. Lakehouse Restaurant & Bar offers all-day dining, and its sub-restaurant, Lakehouse Sushi Bar, is open for dinner. Finally, you can enjoy drinks and snacks at the lobby bar.

Rates at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort start at 12,000 points or about $308 per night, including the $56 resort fee.

One of the premium suite types even offers a private fitness space with a Peloton bike, a yoga mat and arm weights. Each room has either one king bed or two queen beds.

The Hyatt Regency Seattle is home to Seattle's two largest ballrooms, so it understandably caters to conference, wedding and convention travelers. Andaz Savannah

Andaz Savannah
HYATT

I visited Savannah, Georgia, in high school and enjoyed exploring its historic downtown. Savannah's popularity as a tourist destination has only grown since then, and the Andaz Savannah is a good option if you want to stay in the historic city center.

The Andaz Savannah has 151 rooms, including 37 suites. You can book a standard room with one king bed or two queen beds starting at 12,000 points per night or an Andaz Suite or Ellis Square Suite starting at 21,000 points per night.

The property charges guests a destination fee of $33 (plus taxes) per room, per night, which includes access to house bikes, daily sunset s'mores, a welcome drink upon arrival, and in-room snacks and nonalcoholic drinks.

You'll find excellent local dining options around the Andaz Savannah, but if you want to eat in, you can still enjoy classic Southern comfort food for breakfast, lunch and dinner at 22 Square Restaurant. 22 Square Bar is a great place to grab a drink before exploring Savannah's lively nightlife. The bar even features local live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. And if you want to relax at the pool, you can get drinks and light bites on the pool terrace throughout the day.

Rates at the Andaz Savannah start at 12,000 points or about $227 per night, including the $33 destination fee.

Andaz Mexico City Condesa

Andaz Mexico City Condesa
HYATT

The Andaz Mexico City Condesa opened in January 2023 with 213 rooms. It has mostly received rave reviews, although some guests note you can hear music in the rooms at night (so this may not be the best property for you if you're a light sleeper). The hotel's neighborhood provides ample dining options and a central tourist location, just a short walk from Parque Mexico and various art galleries.

You can redeem 12,000 to 18,000 points per night for a 344-square-foot standard room with one king bed or two double beds overlooking either Avenida de los Insurgentes or the hotel's internal patio. You can also redeem points for select standard and premium suites, but if you book a paid rate, you can reserve additional room types, including a city-view room and a 667-square-foot terrace suite with a large private outdoor terrace.

The 17th floor of the hotel offers a rooftop pool with great city views and the Cabuya Rooftop restaurant and bar. You can get breakfast at Portico, sip caffeinated beverages at Derba Matcha Cafe and enjoy a drink in the dog-friendly Wooftop Beer Garden & Canine Club. If you bring your dog for your stay, you'll need to pay a fee of $100 per pet, per room.

Rates at the Andaz Mexico City Condesa start at 12,000 points or about $220 per night.

Park Hyatt Mendoza

Park Hyatt Mendoza
STELLA SHON/THE POINTS GUY

The Park Hyatt Mendoza, opposite the historic Plaza Independencia in the center of Mendoza, Argentina, has 186 rooms and suites. It's a short walk to many of the city center's sights but also provides easy access to exclusive wineries and is just a 90-minute drive from ski resorts.

Standard rooms, which measure 388 square feet and have king or twin beds, are bookable from 12,000 points per night. Hyatt Centric Murano Venice

Hyatt Centric Murano Venice
HYATT

I've never been to Venice, Italy, but assuming I visit while the Hyatt Centric Murano Venice is still a Category 4 Hyatt hotel, I expect I'll stay at this hotel. The Hyatt Centric Murano Venice is on one of the less-touristy islands in Venice's lagoon, but water buses make it easy to reach islands more popular with tourists.

The Hyatt Centric Murano Venice has 119 rooms, including 409-square-foot duplex suites that you can book from 21,000 points per night. The standard rooms are just 247 square feet, but each still fits a king or two twin beds. The small rooms at the Hyatt Centric Murano Venice might not be problematic, though, if you plan to spend most of your time exploring Venice.

Since the Hyatt Centric Murano Venice is relatively small, its amenities are limited. However, the hotel has an exercise room with a treadmill, a recline bike and a multigym station by Technogym that's open 24 hours a day but does require reservations at check-in. It also offers a sauna and a steam room from 5 to 10 p.m. for a fee of 10 euros ($12) per person (reservations are required). You can take a water bus to the hotel, but the property also offers its shuttle boat from Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) that you can currently book for 22 euros ($26) per person.

If you want to eat a nicer meal at the Hyatt Centric, Osteriva serves as a relaxed Venetian dining experience in a greenhouse. Otherwise, enjoy a drink and light bites at Rivalonga Cafe while overlooking the Canal Grande of Murano. Or, sip a drink indoors at Spritz & Fizz, the hotel's cocktail bar. Although the menu is limited overnight, you can enjoy 24-hour room service.

Rates at the Hyatt Centric Murano Venice start at 12,000 points or about $171 per night.

Can you transfer American Airlines AAdvantage miles?

You can earn American Airlines AAdvantage miles through several activities such as flying with American or its partner airlines, spending on an American Airlines cobranded credit card, shopping online through the AAdvantage eShopping portal and more.

But did you know that you can also transfer your American miles and transfer other rewards to your Advantage account?

Here is everything you need to know about transferring AAdvantage miles.

American Airlines AAdvantage overview

Exit row seating on an American Airlines Boeing 737
ZACH GRIFF/THE POINTS GUY

As one of the world's largest airlines, American Airlines offers a large network of domestic and international routes. It's also a Oneworld alliance member with other airline partners, including Alaska Airlines, British Airways, Qantas and Cathay Pacific. Additionally, it's the only one of the "Big Three" U.S. airlines (American, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines) that hasn't fully eliminated published award charts.

Related: Inside Europe's first Oneworld alliance-branded lounge in Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

Whether you want to fly across the country or across the world to Europe, the Middle East or Australasia, American Airlines and its well-regarded partner airlines can take you there.

While AAdvantage miles for long-haul flights on American Airlines can be of poor value due to dynamic pricing, partner redemptions remain a great deal.

TPG currently values AAdvantage miles at 1.55 cents each, per our July 2025 valuations.

Can you transfer AAdvantage miles?

American Airlines planes
ZACH GRIFF/THE POINTS GUY

Yes, you can transfer points from hotel or credit card programs to AAdvantage miles in a few ways.

Hotel programs

Marriott Bonvoy points transfer to American AAdvantage at a ratio of 3 Marriott points to 1 AAdvantage mile. However, unlike most Marriott transfer options, you won't earn an extra 5,000 miles for every 60,000 Marriott points you transfer.

While you can also transfer World of Hyatt points and IHG One Rewards points to AAdvantage miles, the transfer rate is so poor that we do not recommend it.

Related: Here's what you should know before transferring Marriott points to airline miles

Credit card points

One of the easier options to consider for earning American AAdvantage miles is through an American Airlines credit card. Here are some of the best cobranded options available:

The information for the Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Recently, Citi added American Airlines as a transfer partner, which means you can now transfer ThankYou Rewards points to AAdvantage at a 1:1 rate if you hold one of the following cards:

The information for the Citi Prestige Card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Citi is the only major credit card issuer that has American Airlines as a transfer partner. Therefore, having one of these transferable rewards credit cards in your wallet can be a game changer for your points and miles strategy.

Transfer to another member

You can transfer AAdvantage miles online to any other AAdvantage member in increments of 1,000 miles for $5 per 1,000 miles. This includes taxes, fees and discounts.

AAdvantage screenshot
AMERICAN AIRLINES

It is not possible to transfer AAdvantage miles to a credit card program or another airline loyalty program.

You can also use your AAdvantage miles in your account to book flights for other people.

How to book American Airlines flights with no AAdvantage miles

If you have no AAdvantage miles, you can still book American Airlines-operated flights in several different ways:

  • Book directly on American's website, but remember to pay with a credit card that earns bonus miles for flight bookings.
  • Book American flights through a credit card travel portal like Chase Travel℠ or Capital One Travel, both of which offer bonus miles for airfare bookings.
  • Book an award flight through a partner airline like Alaska Airlines, which will sell you American Airlines flights.
  • Redeem points and miles in a partner airline program like British Airways Club. This program partners with almost every transferable credit card program, so you have a wide range of options to earn points that you could transfer to British Airways to book flights on American Airlines.

Bottom line

While there are only a few ways to transfer miles into your AAdvantage account, there are plenty of ways to earn more miles, from using the right credit card to transferring rewards from another program.

You can also book American Airlines flights, even if you do not have any AAdvantage miles, through the carrier's partner airlines or online travel portals to earn extra rewards.

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card is Marriott's top-tier card.

Annual fee: $650

Welcome offer: Earn 185,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership. Offer ends Sept. 24. Based on TPG's July 2025 valuations, this offer is worth $1,295.

This bonus matches the best in the Brilliant's history, making now an excellent time to apply if you've been considering the card. The Amex Bonvoy Brilliant previously offered up to 200,000 bonus points (offer no longer available). However, that bonus required six eligible paid nights in addition to $6,000 in purchases. The current offer requires less spending.

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card art
THE POINTS GUY

Earning rates: Cardmembers earn:

  • 6 points per dollar spent at Marriott hotels (You'll earn up to 21 total points per dollar spent on eligible Marriott stays: 10 points from being a Bonvoy member, 6 points from this card and 50% bonus points from the Platinum elite status the card provides, which equates to a 14.7% return on spending based on TPG's July 2025 valuations).
  • 3 points per dollar spent at restaurants worldwide and on flights booked directly with airlines
  • 2 points per dollar spent on other eligible purchases

Why we like it: The card also has valuable perks, such as automatic Platinum Elite status, an annual free night award (worth up to 85,000 points; certain hotels have resort fees) after card renewal month, up to $25 in monthly statement credits (up to $300 per year) for eligible purchases at restaurants worldwide, Priority Pass lounge access and 25 elite qualifying night credits per year. Enrollment is required for select benefits; terms apply.

Remember that Marriott uses dynamic pricing, so you may need to work harder to find a property to use free nights. But you can top up Marriott free night certificates with up to 15,000 points, letting you book a night worth up to 100,000 points.

Marriott Bonvoy Bevy American Express Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Bevy American Express Card is Bonvoy's mid-tier card from Amex with earnings, benefits and an annual fee that mirror the Bountiful.

Annual fee: $250

Welcome offer: Earn 155,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership. Offer ends Sept. 24. Based on TPG's July 2025 valuations, this offer is worth up to $1,085.

Like the Brilliant's offer, this bonus on the Bevy matches its highest-ever bonus for the spending requirement. The card previously offered up to 175,000 bonus points, but it required six eligible paid nights in addition to the spending requirement (no longer available). So, now would be a great time to apply for a bank of points with just one spending requirement.

Marriott Bonvoy Bevy card art
THE POINTS GUY

Earning rates: Cardmembers earn:

  • 6 points per dollar spent at Marriott hotels (You'll earn up to 18.5 points per dollar spent on eligible Marriott stays: 10 points from being a Bonvoy member, 6 points from this card and 25% bonus points from the Gold elite status the card provides, which equates to about a 13% return on spending based on TPG's July 2025 valuations).
  • 4 points per dollar spent on the first $15,000 per year in combined purchases at restaurants worldwide and U.S. supermarkets (then 2 points per dollar spent thereafter)
  • 2 points per dollar spent on other eligible purchases

Why we like it: This card also offers mid-tier perks, including complimentary Gold Elite status, a solid earning rate at Marriott properties and elite night credits. However, it lacks several benefits that you might expect from a mid-tier card.

For example, you must spend $15,000 in a calendar year to earn a free night (worth up to 50,000 points; certain hotels have resort fees). Other Marriott cards with lower annual fees include a similar perk with no spending requirement, making this card tough to justify holding beyond receiving the welcome bonus in the first year. Terms apply.

Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card is Marriott's only business card currently available to new applicants.

Annual fee: $125

Welcome offer: Earn 125,000 bonus points after spending $8,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership. Offer ends Oct. 22. According to TPG's July 2025 valuations, this bonus is worth $875.

This is not the highest bonus on the Marriott Business Amex, as the card has previously offered 3-5 free night awards (valued at 50,000 points each, no longer available). However, since the current offer earns more than 100,000 points, it does meet our requirement for when to apply.

Marriott Bonvoy Business card art
THE POINTS GUY

Earning rates: Cardmembers earn:

  • 6 points per dollar spent on Marriott hotels (You'll earn up to 18.5 total points per dollar spent on eligible Marriott stays: 10 points from being a Bonvoy member, 6 points from this card and 25% bonus points from the Gold elite status the card provides, which equates to about a 13% return on spending based on TPG's July 2025 valuations).
  • 4 points per dollar spent at restaurants worldwide and U.S. gas stations and on wireless telephone services and U.S. shipping purchases
  • 2 points per dollar spent on all other purchases

Why we like it: With this card, you'll get automatic Gold Elite status with Marriott Bonvoy and up to a 7% discount on eligible bookings made directly with Marriott through an eligible channel at participating properties with this card's rate.

The card also comes with 15 elite night credits annually (which can be stacked with a Marriott Bonvoy consumer card) and a free night award annually after your card renewal month (worth up to 35,000 points and can be topped up with up to 15,000 points from your Bonvoy account for total of 50,000 points per night). In addition, you can earn a second free night (also worth up to 35,000 points) after $60,000 of purchases on your card in a calendar year. Terms apply.

Marriott's shift to dynamic pricing may make it harder to use these awards. Still, you should be able to find a participating property that can cover your annual fee (and then some), as our data indicates that there's still a lot of value in the program.

Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card is one of Chase's two mid-tier Bonvoy cards.

Annual fee: $95

Welcome offer: Earn three free night awards after spending $3,000 on eligible purchases within the first three months of card membership. (Each free night award has a redemption level of up to 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy.) Certain hotels have resort fees.

If you max out each night at 50,000 points, this offer could be worth up to 150,000 points, which, according to TPG's July 2025 valuations, makes this bonus worth up to $1,050.

This is this card's standard offer, so we'd suggest waiting for a better offer if you can, ideally five free nights (no longer available).

Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card art
THE POINTS GUY

Earning rates: Cardholders earn:

  • 6 points per dollar spent at Marriott hotels (You'll earn up to 17 points per dollar on eligible Marriott stays: 10 points from being a Bonvoy member, 6 points from this card and 10% bonus points from the Silver elite status the card provides, which equates to a total 11.9% return on spending based on TPG's July 2025 valuations)
  • 3 points per dollar spent on the first $6,000 spent in combined purchases each year on dining and at gas stations and grocery stores
  • 2 points per dollar spent on all other purchases

Why we like it: The Boundless gives you great Marriott perks without having to pay a high annual fee. With this card, you'll get automatic Bonvoy Silver Elite status and 15 elite qualifying nights every year. You'll also earn one elite night credit toward the next level of elite status for every $5,000 spent, and you can reach Gold Elite status by spending $35,000 on the card in a calendar year.

Perhaps the most valuable perk is the annual free night award (worth up to 35,000 points) at each account anniversary, though Marriott's lack of award charts could hinder your ability to use this benefit. This free night award can be topped up with up to 15,000 points from your Bonvoy account for a total of 50,000 points per night. Certain hotels have resort fees.

Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful Credit Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful Credit Card is the other mid-tier Bonvoy card from Chase.

Annual fee: $250

Welcome offer: Earn 85,000 points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. Based on TPG's July 2025 valuations, this offer is worth $595.

This is typically the standard welcome offer we see on this card. Unless you must have this card now, you're better suited to apply when the offer is higher.

Marriott Bonovy Bountiful card art

Earning rates: Cardholders earn:

  • 6 points per dollar spent at Marriott hotels (You'll earn up to 18.5 points per dollar spent on eligible Marriott stays: 10 points from being a Bonvoy member, 6 points from this card and 25% bonus points from the Gold elite status the card provides, which equates to about a 13% return on spending based on TPG's July 2025 valuations)
  • 4 points per dollar spent at restaurants and grocery stores (on the first $15,000 per year in combined purchases, then 2 points per dollar spent thereafter)
  • 2 points per dollar spent on all other purchases

Why we like it: Whereas American Express issues the Bevy, this card comes from Chase. The two cards have mostly the same benefits, meaning the perks that come with this card struggle to justify its $250 annual fee. However, the welcome bonus may be of interest to you.

Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card is Chase's entry-level card for Bonvoy enthusiasts.

Annual fee: $0

Welcome offer: Earn 30,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 in the first three months of account opening.

The 30,000 points are worth $210, according to TPG's July 2025 valuations.

This is this card's standard offer, so we'd suggest waiting for a better offer if you can.

Marriott Bonvoy Bold card art

Earning rates: Cardholders earn:

  • 3 points per dollar spent at Marriott hotels (You'll earn up to 14 points per dollar spent on eligible Marriott stays: 10 points from being a Bonvoy member, 3 points from this card and 10% bonus points from the Silver elite status the card provides, which equates to a 9.8% return on spending based on TPG's July 2025 valuations)
  • 2 points per dollar spent at grocery stores and on select ride-hailing services, food delivery, streaming, internet, cable and phone services
  • 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases

Why we like it: The card offers automatic Bonvoy Silver Elite status and five annual elite night credits. It also has no foreign transaction fees. Additionally, the Bold features Chase's Pay Yourself Back benefit in eligible quarters.

This is a solid set of perks for a card with no annual fee. However, frequent Marriott guests may do better with a card that offers more perks during each stay.

Can you apply for more than 1 Marriott card offer?

If multiple Marriott card offers intrigue you, you can indeed have more than one open Marriott card. Some TPG staffers have two or three. It can make sense to leverage the annual anniversary award nights and to stack the 5-25 elite nights awarded by carrying both a personal and small-business Marriott card.

Ritz Carlton hotel
RITZ CARLTON

However, with six total Marriott cards available for new applicants, there are several restrictions on who can earn the welcome offers across the available cards, especially since cards are issued by both Amex and Chase.

Note that these restrictions are all in addition to Chase's 5/24 rule (which applies to new applicants for the Bold, Boundless and Bountiful cards) and Amex's one-bonus-per-lifetime rule (which applies to the Bevy, Brilliant and Business cards).

Make sure you're eligible for these offers before applying.

Bottom line

Marriott cards hold slots in our top hotel credit cards list, thanks to the value they provide year after year.

Plus, with the two personal Amex cards offering exceptionally high bonuses, now is a solid time to apply to earn a swath of Marriott points.

If you have a compelling reason to get a Marriott card now, don't delay.
